Hexagonal bolts refer to fasteners composed of heads and screws. Bolts are classified into iron bolts and stainless steel bolts according to their materials. According to the grade of iron, there are 4.8 grade bolts and 8.8 grade bolts. Stainless steel bolts are made of stainless steel SUS201 bolts, SUS304 bolts, and SUS316 bolts.

Hexagon bolt: A type of fastener consisting of two parts, a head and a screw (cylinder with external thread), which needs to be matched with a nut to fasten and connect two parts with through holes.

This type of connection is called bolt connection. If the nut is unscrewed from the bolt, the two parts can be separated, so the bolt connection is a detachable connection.

According to the shape of the head, there are hexagonal heads, round heads, square heads, countersunk heads, and so on. Generally, countersunk heads are used in places where the surface after the connection is required to be smooth and no protrusions, because the countersunk head can be screwed into the part. It can be screwed into the part. The tightening force of the square head can be larger, but the size is large. The hexagon head is the most commonly used.

In addition, in order to meet the need of locking after installation, there are holes on the head and holes on the rod. These holes can prevent the bolt from loosening when it is vibrated.

Some bolts without threaded polished rods should be made thinner, called thin waist bolts. This kind of bolts is conducive to the connection of variable forces.

There are special high-strength bolts on the steel structure. The head will be larger. The size will also change.

The performance grades of bolts for steel structure connection are divided into more than 10 grades, such as 3.6, 4.6, 4.8, 5.6, 6.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9, 12.9, among which bolts of grade 8.8 and above are made of low-carbon alloy steel or medium-carbon steel and are heat-treated (Quenching, tempering), commonly known as high-strength bolts, and the rest are commonly known as ordinary bolts. The bolt performance grade label consists of two numbers, which respectively indicate the nominal tensile strength value and the yield ratio of the bolt material. For example:

1. The meaning of bolts of performance class 4.6 is:

1) The nominal tensile strength of the bolt material reaches 400MPa;

2) The yield ratio of the bolt material is 0.6;

3) The nominal yield strength of the bolt material reaches 400×0.6=240MPa

2. Performance grade 10.9 grade high-strength bolts, after heat treatment, can reach:

1) The nominal tensile strength of the bolt material reaches 1000MPa;

2) The yield ratio of the bolt material is 0.9;

3) The nominal yield strength of the bolt material reaches 1000×0.9=900MPa

The meaning of the bolt performance grade is the international standard. The bolts of the same performance grade have the same performance regardless of the difference in material and origin. Only the performance grade can be selected in the design.

The so-called 8.8 and 10.9 strength grades refer to the bolt's shear stress resistance grades of 8.8GPa and 10.9GPa.
